Last in the League

Last in the League is a debut television production from Tim's very own television company Troutbeck Television.

This series followed the incredibly tense last 6 games of the season as Chester City not only fought to stay in the 3rd division but also to remain a professional side. Although it was predominately about football, this programme also looked behind the scenes of a 3rd division side. This gave an insight into just how many people are involved on a day to day basis and the amount of organisation it takes to keep things running smoothly.

Each episode was gripping, as the decision went right down to the final moments of their last match of the season. Chester City put up a brave battle but sadly they were relegated into the Nationwide Conference League (for the '00 - '01 season).

Tim's enthusiasm during the series was incredibly infectious (for someone who isn't a fan of that side!). Even I felt truly sad at the end...I guess I have admit to having a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye (and I am
very seldom moved by sport!!).

I guess all that remains to be said is to congratulate all those at the Deva Stadium for a fantastic last few matches (even if it was all in vain) and to wish everyone all the best for this season. Hopefully Chester City will return to the 3rd next season…(although preferably not at the expense of Hull City!!).
