When Tim was 17 he started to work for Piccadilly Radio (Manchester) as a coffee boy and gradually over the years (14 to be precise) rose to the heady heights of Breakfast Show Presenter and Programme Controller (Wow!!). An example of Tim's work whilst at Piccadilly can be viewed at the following website:
              Mike Oldfield interview

Tim is (wonderfully) left handed and is very acrophobic  (scared of heights - as illustrated when Tim is required to be raised off the ground for filming).

When Tim isn't wandering around the countryside researching and filming he likes to fish or partake in a round or two of golf. Aside from that Tim is a devoted fan of Manchester United and enjoys most other sports.

Tim is very passionate when it comes to history and has a diverse knowledge of the subject. Tim is also known to partake in quizzes both as a competitor (A Room with a Clue) and as quiz master (for the BGWS). Tim is also a fully qualified journalist, perfect training for when he is talking to all of those eccentrics that he invariably meets.

Tim has two children and is also the Chair of a major children's charity - The Children's Adventure Farm Trust. Tim also  does a lot of work for other charities including the BGWS (Boys and Girls Welfare Society), from which the photograph below was taken.

I realise that a lot of this information is rather trivial, but I have tried to include anything that may be of interest to a fan of Tim Grundy.

One thing I can say about Tim, both from the (minimal) contact I have had with him and what others have said is that he is a genuinely nice and decent guy (honestly!).

As I have said before, I do not claim to know everything about Tim Grundy, therefore if there is anything (factual) that you feel should be added to this then feel free to mail me.
