Where do I begin?
Well, Tim Grundy was born in Manchester on Friday 4th July 1958. The name Tim(othy) comes from the Greek 'Thaddeus' (from time, 'honour, respect' and theos, 'god'), and roughly means 'honouring God' or 'honoured by God'. Grundy is a traditional Lancashire name meaning 'strong in battle'.
His mother is Scottish and his father (Bill Grundy) is the famous broadcaster who was thrown into television notoriety when the Sex Pistols repeatedly hurled abuse at him during a live television programme. One of his grandfathers also built steam trains.
As a young boy Tim had a fear of cows (not that I can talk as I had a fear of blue swing bridges!- not good when you live in Hull!) which he cured by working at a milking parlour.
Below are a couple of school photographs of Tim and his class. (Sorry Tim!!)
